Pink Floyd The Committee Rarity Mountain
Most of the music Pink Floyd composed is as much soundtrack movie is, composed of short snippets of music meant to underscore the narrative onscreen. The first instrumental is a short, backwards discordant theme before the first dialogue, between the unnamed protagonist and the driver.

The victim talks to him, but he is uninterested. The victim decides to pull over because he does not like the sound of the engine. While he is looking under the bonnet of the car the central character slams the bonnet down on his head several times, decapitating him in the process. The central character eventually sews the head back on, and the victim wakes up.
The central character tells him he does not want to drive anymore that day and to leave without him. A few years later the central character is called on to be part of a committee, groups that supposedly keep the system running but really do not do much of anything. The committee consists of 300 people who meet in a country estate, where there is swimming, tennis and boating during non-working hours, and a dance with a live band one evening. The man feels paranoid that the committee was called on account of him, and runs into the victim while there, who does not seem to remember him. The central character talks about this with a man listed as 'The committee director' () in the credits. This conversation lasts for the duration of the movie, and features most of the music wrote for the film.

So today I digested all the BBC tracks. For me, only 4 tracks are upgrades to my whole archive of stuff.
-scarecrow from sept 25 1967 -a saucerful of secrets from june 25 1968 -embryo from dec 2 1968 -cymbaline from may 12 1969 everything else i feel i have found a better source for. Sharepoint form templates free. If anyone has the harvested BBC RevB 2CD set.
The tracks on that are the best are -reaction in G & set the controls from sept 25 1967 -julia dream from june 25 1968 -the narrow way & careful with that axe eugene from may 12 1969. All the other tracks I got from various other sources I cant list. The dec 20 1967 show I didn't list because i havn't found a decent version of. They all blow imo. I never listen to it. If someone can recommend a good source besides early years of the harvested set.
I should also mention 'flaming' from sept 25 1967 is pretty much the same on all sources i heard. So you can take your pick on that track. The early years version is just fine or tied for #1. I already spoke about bbc 70 and bbc 71. Check my prior post on that. Disc one of Devi/ation 1970 may be my new favorite Pink Floyd CD. The two Atom Heart Mother bookends left me speechless.
The rest is top shelf Floyd. That transition from Green Is The Colour to Eugene gave me friggin' GOOSE BUMPS!!! The live Embryo is great as well, I love Gilmour's playing on that one. But my favorite Embryo remains the Ohio show from 11/71 where Rock's organ breaks down and Gilmour puts on a guitar clinic while the techs fix it, then the band continues to play for another 5+ minutes or so once Rick's organ is back in working order.
I have not been so happy with money spent in a long time the way I am with this box set. Disc one of Devi/ation 1970 may be my new favorite Pink Floyd CD.
